Yom HaZikaron Across Brooklyn
Sunday, May 12, 7:00pm
Kane Street Sanctuary
Join us for the Brooklyn Communities Israel's Memorial Day Event, a solemn gathering to honor the memory of those lost. This year's event will be held at Kane Street Synagogue on Sunday, May 12, starting at 7:00pm.
Yom Hazikaron weighs heavy on our hearts every year, but this year feels especially poignant. The wounds of October 7th are still fresh, the pain still raw, and the conflict still ongoing. Among the faces etched into our memories is Shani Louk z"l, a vibrant 22-year-old tattoo artist from Tel Aviv. Tragically taken from us during the Nova Festival by Hamas terrorists, Shani's body remains held captive in Gaza.
Her father, Nissim, will join us for the ceremony to share his memories of Shani, may her soul rest in peace.
Please fill out the form below to confirm your attendance and stand in solidarity with those who have lost loved ones to senseless violence.
This event is co-sponsored by UJA-Federation of New York, Jewish Agency for Israel, Kings Bay Y, Park Slope Jewish Center, Congregation Beth Elohim, JCC Brooklyn, Luria Academy, Hannah Senesh Community Day School, East Midwood Jewish Center, Brooklyn Heights Synagogue, and B'ShERT.
